Immigration Equality is the nation’s leading LGBTQ immigrant rights organization. In over 80 countries, it is a crime or extremely dangerous to be LGBTQ. When asylum seekers have high quality legal representation, they are 5x more likely to win their cases.That’s why each year, Immigration Equality provides free legal service services to more than 750 LGBTQ asylum seekers, including those trapped in detention.
The Safe Haven Awards is Immigration Equality’s largest fundraising event, and highlights both the stories of its clients and the achievements of its incredible network of pro bono law firm partners. This is a cocktail-style event, with an hour-long awards program. The event will be held at Tribeca Rooftop on Wednesday, May 29th.
We are looking for eight volunteers to help with check-in and the photo booth. Volunteers would help from 5:45-9:30pm.
